Skip's Place Pizza

According to google, Skip’s Place is a downtown Los Altos staple. It supposedly serves some of the best pizza in the South Bay. However, I was disappointed. I ordered a medium sized half margherita and half classic chicken pesto pizza and a hot sub, which was also recommended on google. The pizza had too thick of a crust and it just didn’t go too well with the toppings. It didn’t mesh well. It felt like bread with a couple things thrown on top. The crust and toppings by themselves aren’t bad though. They’re fresh and you can even see them make the pizza. The hot sub was also ok. They use the same dough to make the sub, and at first bite, the sub was surprisingly crunchy. The ingredients inside were super savory, but my mouth felt kind of dry immediately. It was ok, but it wasn’t amazing. It might just be my taste, but I didn’t particularly enjoy this meal, especially since I was expecting much more out of the “best pizza in Los Altos,” according to many google reviews. Overall, this place is a place I probably won’t come back to for pizza. Atmosphere: 3 (not lively enough though) Service: 3 (they made the pizza fresh so it took a little less than 20 min, but they were friendly enough) Taste: 2.5 Price: 2.5 Uniqueness: 3.5 (since 1972!) Presentation: 3 Overall, 17.5/30 or 58.33% #skipsplacepizza #downtownlosaltos #pizza#margherita #chickenpesto #hotsub #pizza#italiansub #ambersfoodreviews
