Gong Cha USA

In downtown Palo Alto, there are various boba spots, including T4, Sharetea, and Gong Cha. Out of these three, Gong Cha is the only one I haven’t reviewed. It is a little less popular and more isolated because of its location, but the drinks are also only decent. I used to go to the Fremont location, and it was pretty popular and I liked the drinks, but at the Palo Alto location, even when I order 30% sugar, the drink is extremely sweet. One of their signature drinks is the Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3J (boba, pudding, and grass jelly). I thought that maybe it was just the toppings that were sweet, but I also ordered the lemon with Aiyu, and that was also too sweet. It was easier to tell that the aiyu itself wasn’t super sweet, so it had to be the drink. For the earl grey milk tea, the flavors were ok, but they were very masked by the sweetness. For the lemon with aiyu, the lemon taste was pretty strong, but again, it was masked by the sweetness. Overall, I would say that Gong Cha offers decent drinks if you’re ok with the sweetness, but otherwise, I would go with Sharetea or T4. Atmosphere: 3 Service: 3 Taste: 3 Price: 2 ($5 is so expensive!!) Uniqueness: 3.5 (I like the 3J) Presentation: 3 Overall, 18.5/30 or 61.67% #gongcha #earlgreymilktea #3J#lemonwithaiyu #milktea #boba #paloalto#ambersfoodreviews
