Tootsie’s, an incredible Italian spot at the Stanford Barn, will leave everyone wanting more. This eatery in the charming red brick building offers the finest Italian brunch. From the best croissants you will ever have to the fluffiest pancakes to mouthwatering sandwiches, the food here is completely phenomenal. My mom first discovered this spot a couple years ago, and boy, am I glad she did. No other croissant has ever even come close to the ones Tootsie’s has to offer. They are perfectly soft, flaky, and chewy, and crunchy all at the same time. I never knew any croissant could reach that level of intricacy. Today, I wanted to try something new as well, so I ordered the ricotta pancakes. These are hands down the best pancakes I have ever had. Yes, I rarely eat pancakes because I tend to not enjoy them, but out of the few I have had, these definitely come out on top. The fluffiness of the pancakes pair perfectly with the sweetness of the syrup and tartness of the berries. In addition to the pancakes, we also had their Breakfast Panino, which is a regular order of ours. This sandwich has smooth and runny egg yolk, savory, crispy pancetta, sautéed baby spinach that balances out the saltiness, and an extra element of salty pecorino cheese all stuffed between a ciabatta roll with a crunchy crust and a soft interior. These components really make up the perfect sandwich, and with the side of baked potatoes and a fresh salad, a hearty brunch is served! If this isn’t your cup of tea, they also have a variety of other sandwiches, soups, and salads. Last, but not least, we have the fresh orange juice, which is sweet and tart at the same time. It is truly wonderful. Overall, this delightful Italian eatery serves the finest pastries, drinks, breakfast, and sandwiches (paninos) all in a bright, vibrant, and relaxing atmosphere.
