Fosters Freeze

This old fashioned diner offering a variety of American classics and soft serve desserts was certainly a nice surprise to stumble upon in Milpitas. They have various locations in the Bay Area, and my brother and I had heard of it before (from Worth It Buzzfeed! @worthitbuzzfeed) but we thought it was only in So Cal. When we drove by, we knew we had to stop and try. We got two chocolate dipped cones: one vanilla and one chocolate. The chocolate coating added a satisfying crunch before the creamy soft serve, which was really nice. The chocolate didn’t just melt in your mouth though. The little pieces broken down stay as a hard to describe cluster of pieces in your mouth as you chew and swallow. It can either be satisfying or you could hate it, but either way it’s pretty unique. I don’t think I have ever had a dipped cone before, so I can’t compare to others, but I would assume that this one is pretty standard. As for soft serve, I liked the vanilla soft serve more because it tasted more like the flavor it was supposed to be, and it was definitely more of the old fashioned vanilla taste which was really nice. The chocolate, on the other hand, was not as good, at least when paired with the dip. Overall, I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area and looking for a quick break.
