Mama's on the Half Shell

After our trip to New York, we missed our flight back to SF, which forced us to stay an extra day in Baltimore. My mom wanted to try another place’s crab cakes to compare with the ones we had on our first night, so we ended up going to @mamasonthehalfshell We ordered their Bouillabaisse, which had a variety of seafood in bouillabaisse sauce, the crab cakes with a side of Mac n cheese, the Caesar salad, and the seafood chowder. The bouillabaisse was pretty interesting and it wasn’t bad! The bread in the center was really tough though. The crab cakes were quite disappointing though. L.P. Steamers were, in our opinion, much better. There was a good amount of crab, but the flavors didn’t mesh too well in my mouth. The side of Mac n cheese was pretty good though. It wasn’t overly salty, but it’s definitely not the best Mac n cheese I’ve ever had. The Caesar salad was pretty average, but the seafood chowder was actually pretty good. It had the rich seafood aroma, and the soup itself was very creamy and delicious! Overall, this isn’t a bad place to have classic Baltimore food, but it isn’t anything extraordinary.
