Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory

Today, our lovely Chinese class went on a field trip to San Francisco’s very own China Town. We first went on a tour of China town, learning about the history and culture of it all, and afterwards, we headed to Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory and Hang Ah Dim Sum. I will first review Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory. I had expected it to be much bigger and Factory-esque, but it was really just a small area with two women making the cookies into the iconic Fortune Cookie shape using a machine. We were allowed to watch, but in order to take pictures, we needed to pay 50 cents, so the pictures you are seeing do hold some value. In the pictures above, you see round crisps instead of fortune cookies because we bought a bag of the crisps that hardened too early for them to fold. A bag costs $4.25, which is cheaper than the fortune cookies, and they taste pretty much the same. The room is filled with the sweet fortune cookie smell, and the cookies themselves are crunchy and satisfying. Overall, this is a pretty cool place, and there are free samples too, so if you’re in the area, I would say to definitely check it out. Atmosphere: 3.5 Service: 3 Taste: 3.5 Price: 3 Uniqueness: 4.5 Presentation: 3 Overall, 20.5/30 or 68.33% #goldengatefortunecookiefactory#fortunecookies #sfchinatown#sanfrancisco #ambersfoodreviews P.S. DM me if you want a video of them making it! I can’t post videos because they can’t be transferred to Facebook.
