Shake Shack

This is it. The famous longtime debate has made it onto #ambersfoodreviews. Which is better? East coast’s shake shack or west coast’s in n out? Today, I am here to give you the shake shack side of it. On our first night in Maryland, we were still a bit hungry after the crabs, so when we drove by shake shack, I knew we had to stop. We ordered a regular cheeseburger, fries, a vanilla frozen custard, and a peanut butter and bacon burger off their secret menu. First of all, the potato bun was so soft at first touch, and even chewier at first bite. The meat was nicely cooked, but frankly, the burger felt small and it did not have enough lettuce and tomatoes in my opinion. Although it was a picture perfect burger and all the ingredients were fresh and decently delicious, at more than $5 a burger, it simply was not worth it. The fries were golden, crispy, and crinkly, but also quite expensive. Next, the custard was thicker than I had expected, but still really satisfying. Although it was freezing outside, I still enjoyed it. Lastly, off their secret menu is the pb and bacon burger. The peanut butter comes on the side, and it makes a surprisingly good match with the bacon. The pb was very creamy, and the bacons crunchy savory characteristics paired well. Overall, shake shack has a large selection of quality food (burgers, chicken, hot dogs, ...), drinks, and desserts, but at that price, it’s debatable as to whether or not it’s worth it. Tune in tomorrow for a review of the rival... In N Out! The winner will be announced. Atmosphere: 3.5 Service: 4 (this guy was super nice, and he was bored, so he did everything for us: got us napkins, ketchup, brought us our food, and everything without us even asking, but the service was really slow) Taste: 4 Price: 2 Uniqueness: 3.5 Presentation: 3.5 Overall, 20.5/30 or 68.33% #shakeshack #cheeseburger #crinklefries#frozencustard #peanutbutterandbacon#secretmenu #baltimore #innerharbor#ambersfoodreviews @shakeshack
