L.P. Steamers

As our first stop in Maryland, we headed to L. P. Steamers. From my research, it seemed like this would be the go-to stop for authentic Maryland seafood. It didn’t live up to my expectations, but it wasn’t horrible. We got half a dozen small crabs, 2 crab cakes, and their half and half soup. The crab cakes were delicious. They were filled with real fresh crab meat, and fried nicely with a creamy dipping sauce. The soup was also quite scrumptious, with nice vegetables. Lastly, the waiter came with 6 crabs on a tray, and just slid them onto the paper covered table. They gave us wooden hammers and knives to crack the shells. The shells were covered in a very strong seasoning, but the meat inside was nice and tender. However, there was a quite a small amount of meat to be found in these crabs. Overall, it was a pretty cool experience, but we still left the restaurant with semi-empty stomachs. Atmosphere: 3 Service: 3.5 Taste: 3.5 Price: 3 (the crabs were pretty average, but the crab cakes were quite expensive for their size) Uniqueness: 4 Presentation: 3 Overall, 20/30 or 66.66% #lpsteamers #crabs #crabcakes #soup#baltimore #ambersfoodreviews
