Happy Taco Tuesday! For this spectacular day, my friend Ria, my brother Ethan, and I headed out to a small spot in Redwood City. Tacos El Grullense is quite a popular name for taquerias around here, so it was a bit difficult to find, but eventually, we found it. This is a spot that Ria’s sister brought her to a while back, and today, we came back to see if it was still just as good. We ordered asada, carnitas, al pastor, and Ria even got lengua (beef tongue). The tortillas were all grilled/toasted on the black stove top, so they were a bit crunchy, but still kind of soft. The meats were great though. The lengua was quite tender and juicy according to Ria, but I only had a tiny tiny piece because I was a little scared. The other meats were all super flavorful though. The salsas on the other hand were very spicy. It took me a long time to recover from the salsa on top of the asada Taco. Overall, the tacos were really good, except for the spiciness. They were also pretty cheap at $1.69 a taco.
