Kippu Japanese Cuisine

Merry Christmas! (To those of you that celebrate it) Today, our family headed out to Berkeley and SF, and ended our day with dinner in Japan Town. We ended up at Kippu, and it looked pretty lively, so we headed in to enjoy ourselves with some nice Japanese Cuisine. However, we were far from satisfied. It started off pretty well, with us getting seated quickly, but soon after, things took a turn for the worse. First, we asked for four waters, and the waiter kindly said yes. We waited for a while, but the waters never came. We decided not to continue bothering them as they looked pretty busy. When time came and we wanted to put in our order, the waiters did not answer. There were four tables waiting for their orders to be taken, and none of them were answered until a good 20 minutes later. One couple even left, after being ignored several times by the waiter. Then, finally, the waitress came, and decided to take the orders of the people who came in much after us. That was annoying, but after a while, the waitress finally came over and took our order with a curt voice and glare. (We didn’t even do anything). We ordered our food, and the rolls came pretty quick, but it was only after the tables next to us got all their food (the same dishes that we ordered might I add), that we received the rest of our food. After all this time and after asking several times, we still had not received our waters either. Overall, the service here can be much much improved, and although I understand that they may be short staffed, there is no need to be rude to customers. The food wasn’t half bad though. Atmosphere: 2 (really cramped) Service: 1 Taste: 3 Price: 2.5 Uniqueness: 3 Presentation: 3 Overall, 14.5/30 or 48.33% #kippujapanesecuisine #sushi #rolls#bentobox #udon #christmasdinner#ambersfoodreviews
