Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks

Sorry for the inconsistent posting this past week! Now that finals are over though, I will resume or try my best to resume the daily posts. Today, after finals and practice, I got Home to just relax, and when my mom came home, she brought some Taiwan street snacks with her! Although the ones here don’t compare to the ones in Taiwan at all, it is not unexpected. At this little store in Milpitas, their menu is small, but the items are pretty cool. They have large pieces of fried chicken, and you can choose dark or white meat and what size you want. They fry the chicken as a huge piece but then cut it up into small squares to fit in a bag. The chicken tastes pretty fresh, and it’s fried pretty nicely, but the seasoning is quite off. This time, it was way too heavy. Next, the noodle soup is also a street snack unique to Taiwan, but it was also a bit too heavy in seasoning in my opinion. Lastly, the aiyu jelly drink was complementary with the XXL chicken, but it was too soft, and not that great. Overall, I love each of these dishes, but just not really from this place. This place is pretty good for the Bay Area I guess, but nothing compared to the food back in Taiwan.
