Happy Taco Tuesday! After a not-so-great game, we headed out to El Metate Taqueria for some “consolation tacos,” as Jessa likes to put it to pay tribute to Taco Tuesday. When I walked in, I didn’t really pay attention to detail, but after walking back and forth between the salsa bar and our table multiple times, I noticed the beautiful intricate designs of the chairs and tables. The atmosphere was colorful and vibrant. I ordered three tacos: al pastor, carne asada, and pollo asado. I had the carne asada first, and it was really oily on the outsides of the meat, but the meat itself was kind of dry. The pollo asado was awesome though. There was a sort of sweet taste that blended well with the fresh chicken. Lastly, the al pastor was actually pretty good. The spiciness level was decent too. Also, another big plus was that they had a salsa/ tortilla chip bar that had four different types of salsa, lots of chips, radishes, limes, and peppers.
