Taqueria Azteca

As you may know, I usually start off with a “Happy Taco Tuesday!” on Tuesdays. However, this isn’t just any random Taco Tuesday. Instead, this taco Tuesday marks my 100th post since starting this account. Taqueria Azteca, located in Antonio’s Nut House was the first place I ever reviewed. I remember that day clearly. It was the first time that I had really even thought about Taco Tuesday. My mom was not very happy with my soon to be obsession (of Taco Tuesday), but she still, might I add reluctantly, drove me here. After getting my order of tacos, I came up with the idea to review tacos. I thought that it could be a funny thing to do once in a while, but after support from my dear friends, who encouraged me to keep going, I made this into a food review account, and began to review all the places I tried. Anyway, to pay homage to my first post, I decided to pay Taqueria Azteca another visit. As I walked back in through the familiar green doors, I saw that nothing had changed. The same old dimly lit, noisy bar setting with people (21 and above) drinking beers and eating tacos reminded me of the first time I walked in. I waited in the short line and ordered three tacos (which is far too many for one person to consume, but I still bought 3 for aesthetic purposes). While I waited, I snapped pictures to capture the atmosphere of this place. I was very self-conscious, as people were giving me strange looks. Nevertheless, I ventured on bravely until my order was ready. The server handed me my plate with a smile, and I took it happily with a thank you escaping my lips, but my mind was elsewhere. I was beyond excited to try and review them again. I walked outside to take a picture, but my battery was low and it was dark out. I didn’t know what to do! Then, I realized I could use my bike lights. I quickly ran to detach them and shine them on the plate in order to create enough light for the picture to be clear. I then wrapped up my tacos, and brought them home while biking with one hand. When I got home, I uncovered the plate, and as always, the familiar aroma hit me. These tacos were bigger than I remembered, but I still dove right in. The spice hit me immediately. I didn’t recall them being this spicy, and I began to pant and sweat. Through the pain, I remembered to take a video. I took a bite out of a different taco, and it was just as spicy. I must’ve downed at least three cups of milk before I couldn’t take it anymore. As a result of the milk, I only a a third of each taco, but it was enough to give me a sense of how to review it.
