Happy Taco Tuesday! Sorry for not posting yesterday. I was completely exhausted. Today, I ventured out to Estrellita’s Mexican Bistro, which is located in the Armadillo Willy’s, Chef Chu’s Area. The restaurant has a cute atmosphere packed with culture. Although it’s dimly lit, the restaurant is quite colorful. They offer street style tacos, but they are a bit different as they come from Chiapas and Oaxaca, different regions of Mexico. The tastes are different from what normal street taquerias usually have. The taco meats were carne asada, pork carnitas, and pork pibil. The meats were all very tender and juicy, and the sauces and toppings paired well. The enchiladas looked kind of funky, but the the chicken was super tender and the tomatillo sauce was very tangy, which I guess is an acquired taste. The side chips were super crunchy and the salsa is not your typical pico de gallo. The beans and rice were pretty good too! Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique eat!
